Composting

Composting results in a 50% decrease in the amount of materials Trican sends to the landfill. It also produces fantastic soil.
Trican Employees are to put all
organic materials into the composter which is located beside the microwave. To help speed up the composting process, please ensure that your
organic material is in small pieces.
The following organic materials go in the composter:
Important:
If your organic material has made contact with a substance that can not be composted, it
must be placed in the garbage. For example, broccoli covered with cheese sauce.

tea
bags
egg
shells
coffee
grounds & filters
nut
shells
wood
ash
plant
trimmings
dry
leaves
straw
wood
chips/charcoal
hair
and fur
old potting soil
tissues
Do NOT Put the Following into the Composter:
pet
manure or kitty litter
meat,
bones, fat
dairy
products
oil
or oily foods
diseased/bug
infested plants
diapers
or sanitary products
barbecue
ashes
eggs
fish
and seafood
cheese,
meat or other sauces
